Finally. . . . .

A good day. Long overdue, and highly awaited me and mommy day was celebrated. We kicked it off by going to a restaurant specializing in Mediterranean food near the Yantic post office. I didn't drop the bomb that it was right near where I used to work and got my start as Scarlett. Instead, I shared with my mother the memory of taking a girl home from the Academy and how we used to smoke cigarettes at this cool little bridge. At the end of the bridge were two round towers which my mother and I sat inside of and ate our lunch. I talked to her about my boyfriend and felt supported in my concerns and for once didn't feel ashamed about the choices I was making about who I was dating.
From there we went over to the "new" Good Will store. I don't ever remember seeing a store like that so busy. We spent hours rumaging the racks for various things and our prizes were very cool. My mother loves Halloween, so she found some metal luminarias and I love snowmen, so I got two really cool snowmen for Christmas. I also got these really cool curtians for my kitchen. FINALLY!!! My biggest cocncern was that my landlord would show up right as I was getting out of my shower and see me naked as I tried to slip past my kitchen door. Also got a brown suit and some cool shirts.
While my car might be a traveling tack trunk stuffed to the gills with saddles, brushes, bits and everything in between, we somehow managed to find room for $109 worth of stuff from Good Will, including, but not limited to my mother inisting on getting a two drawer filing cabinet.
Up next was supposed to be Wal-Mart, but we got distracted by the discount sale signs in Bath and Body Works. I got some cool stuff for my upcoming weekend away with my boyfriend and my mother found some body spray she's going to try. A difficult transition for a hard core perfume wearer, forget that she's been that way since I was born.

The Wal-Mart run went well. The best things there were a package of chx breast and a case of canned cat food. Pipsqueak was so appreciatitive he climbed up in bed at what would be our normal cuddle time and instead happily belched and went on his merry way.

Also, with my super computer powers I placed an application with the VA for a research position.
